Awards

On October 22nd, 2001, Thomas R. Bond, II - President/CEO (right), and Frank Marks - Vice President/COO (left), was awarded the prestigious 2001 "Pioneer Award" from the California Film Commission for Biograph's filming of "In Old California" in 1910, the first movie made in Hollywood, and Biograph's discovery of Hollywood for the motion picture industry.

A monument was dedicated May 6th 2004 at 1718 North Vine Street, just north of Hollywood Boulevard for the Biograph Company and in commemoration of the film, "In Old California" the first movie ever made in Hollywood. On this day, Biograph was awarded Congressional Certificate by Congressman Henry Waxman (30th District) (D) CA. May 6th, 2004. Senator Sheila Kuehl (District of - Hollywood) (D) CA. awarded Biograph with the California Senatorial Commendation for its contribution to the history of the state of California. Mayor James K. Hahn proclaimed May 6th 2004 as "Biograph Day" in the City of Los Angeles to commemorate Biograph's contribution to the City of Los Angeles, for history, the motion picture and entertainment industry.
