The American Mutoscope Company, Inc. was established December 21st, 1895, and incorporated in the state of New Jersey on December 30th, 1895, and in New York. The name was changed to the "American Mutoscope and Biograph Company" in 1899, and Biograph Company 1909. The company was revived and incorporated in the state of California September 9th, 1991 and name was reverted to American Mutoscope and Biograph Company, Inc. Since its founding, Biograph has always been a privately held corporation. All formal requests for further company and corporate information must be in writing either via e-mail or postal mail. Licensing and Permission

The American Mutoscope and Biograph Company, Inc. has ownership of more than 3,600 intellectual properties, films, 2 two reel films, short films, and two features. The American Mutoscope and Biograph Company, Inc. has licensed the Library of Congress to freely use its name and distribute its film collection on a not-for-profit basis. The American Mutoscope and Biograph Company, Inc. will also grant permission to schools, and not for profit public organizations to use its films and intellectual properties at no charge. To license or obtain permission to use films and or properties of The American Mutoscope and Biograph Company, Inc., please make your request in writing via e-mail to Licensing Department.

Any and all licensing/permission requests will be reviewed. Any fees will be detirmined on a project per project basis, and any fees charged are at the sole discretion of The American Mutoscope and Biograph Company, Inc.
